I got a circular via Linkd-in at the start of lockdown. It was a recruitment drive, the suggestion being corporates are expecting a surge of patients post lockdown and will need more Optoms to meet demand. I’m sure this will happen in the next 2-3 months and we’ll all be inundated with offers. In the meantime it makes perfect sense to only work the hours that meet your rate. Alternative would be to accept a lower rate on the understanding that you’ll be seeing less than , say 8 patients. If goes above 8 then you charge £20 per additional px until you reach your usual fee. Average employed salary would be around £150/day so I would suggest £200 minimum.
