Just following on from this conversation and instead of posting a other topic – I was just wondering how many optoms are using Volk routinely in practice now? I qualified > 15 yrs ago at a time when an ophthalmoscope was routinely used to check fundus. Over recent years I’ve noticed more newly qualified optoms are being taught to use Volk as part of their routine test.
Is this now a requirement and/or considered best practice? It seems from previous answers it probably is. Does anyone have any tips as to how to become competent at Volk whilst keeping within the clinic diary timeframes? Any views and experiences would be appreciated.
