puzzled – Obviously my training days must be too far away as I assumed most optoms still routinely used direct ophthalmoscopy as I was taught to do and I thought Volk lens and slit lamp were a form of indirect ophthalmoscopy. Am I missing what is meant by Volk?

I find most older patients (ie over 60) have pupils too small for me to feel confident that I have been able to see as much of the fundus as I would want without dilating – regardless of type of ophthalmoscopy or floaters (don’t have routine access to optomap).
