Locum rate was £250 in 1995 . It is ridiculous that we accept £250 still for a weekday. It should at least be £300 for a weekday and £350 for a saturday to be fair to our profession.
I am not sure why some locum’s accept reduced rate on a Sunday when in fact it should be higher. We should refuse to work on Sunday unless we get paid at least £300 -£350.
The companies instead of relying on spectacle sales to pay us , should charge a descent fee to customers for our services. The free eye examination devalues our profession.
