I have been wondering about testing times for a while now also.
Take longer and you are thought of as incompetent rather than thorough.
As a locum we work in different practices, that are not always fully equipped, an unfamiliar environment sorting out referrals/ gp letters already puts us at a time disadvantage. Not to mention poorly trained pre screeners. Sometimes it can take 15 minutes for a px to be pre screened, leaving 5-10? Minutes for an eye test.
I test at 25 mins and would loath to do it in less.
I would love to get a petition started to increase testing times to a mandatory 30 mins.
Can anyone provide guidelines as to how I can get started?
Also have you noticed that kids get shorter testing times! A bit like paying less for smaller clothes sizes!!!!!
